Membership

Membership in Cereals & Grains Association at the local section level presents numerous opportunities for growth and involvement in the cereal processing field. Section meetings provide the perfect setting to become acquainted with others of similar technical interests. Members can add the Cincinnati Section when they join or renew their Cereals & Grains Association membership.

Best Student Poster Awards

Three cash awards will be awarded to students with best posters during the spring and annual meetings.  Posters are judged based on relevance to soft wheat/soft wheat adjacent varieties and applications, experimental design, clarity, and impact to the industry.

Members from the Cincinnati Section will judge the posters that fall into this category at the respective meeting. The three cash awards are $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $100 for third place.

Check Sample Services

The section offers two monthly check sample services:

  • The monthly soft wheat flour check sample includes approximately 60 collaborators, and offers moisture, protein, ash, pH, falling number, and SRC test options.
  • The bimonthly (every two months) cookie check sample includes approximately 15-20 collaborators.

Accuracy awards are given yearly.

Meetings

The Cincinnati Section meets twice a year. A joint meeting is held each spring at Wooster, Ohio as part of the USDA Soft Wheat Quality Lab's Research Review Conference. A fall meeting is held during the Cereals & Grains Association annual meeting.
