2010 AACC International Award Winners
AACC Intl. will honor the following individuals during the annual meeting's Opening General Session and Awards Ceremony: AACC Intl. Fellows�Perry Ng and David Wetzel; Edith Christensen Award for Outstanding Contributions in Analytical Methods�John MacDonald; Young Scientist Award�Sajid Alavi; Excellence in Teaching Award�Curtis Weller; and Applied Research Award�Larry Johnson. All are invited to attend the ceremony on October 24 from 5 to 6 p.m. in
the Chatham Ballroom of the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center.
New Program Session Formats and More at the 2010 Annual Meeting!
New for 2010, we�ve added more scientific sessions to the program
and increased the amount of poster viewing time. We�ve also added two
new formats for scientific sessions�Science
Caf�s and
PosterTalks. Science Caf�s are a twist on traditional symposia that allow more time for discussion and debate, while PosterTalks
give poster authors the opportunity to give a five-minute/three-slide
presentation on their poster content. Visit the annual meeting website

New! Interest Groups at
the 2010 Annual Meeting
In 2010, AACC Intl. formed Interest Groups that focus on specialized
subjects relevant to the association's mission. Want to participate? The
Food Safety, Gluten Free, and Mapping Quality of Small Grains Interest Groups will be meeting during the
annual meeting on Monday, October 25, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Watch for designated tables in the concessions eating area next to Marketplace in Exhibit Hall A of the Savannah Convention Center.

New Hot Topic Session�Salt and Sodium: Looking for My Lost Shaker of Salt�Replacer: Flavor, Function, Future
Just announced! This new Hot Topic Session, which takes place from 1:30
to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, will cover health and nutritional aspects of sodium in the diet, regulation, sodium functionality in bakery applications, and challenges and strategies for sodium reduction.
Preliminary topics are available now and more information will be available soon.

New Day and Time! Opening General Session and Awards
Be sure to arrive in Savannah on time to join us for all the activities on Sunday evening. The Opening General Session and Awards starts at 5:00 p.m., but the reception starts at 4:30 p.m. and is a great opportunity to get together and enjoy a complimentary beverage with friends and colleagues. Sunday evening continues with the Grand Opening Exhibition at 6:00 p.m., where you�ll receive another drink ticket and meet with more than 120 of the industry�s top suppliers. Registration will open at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Join the Audit Task Force Discussion at the Annual Meeting
This task force includes driving change and acceptance in the global food and beverage industry that will lead to audit equivalency thus redundancy
and transparency between audit schemes and food regulations, and harmonization between audits and regulations. During their meeting in Savannah you can help review the draft common survey and learn about ongoing collaboration and harmonization going on across the industry.

to be held April 11-13, 2011, in Freising, Germany. The meeting

hosted by the German Research Center for Food Chemistry and will
be held at the Technical University of Munich. This conference is an
