Sessions
Kick Off Session: Bioengineered (GMO) Wheat, Such as HB4, and the Adoption of Genome Editing in Wheat and Other Small Grains Will Impact Your Supply Chains! The introduction of bioengineered wheat, such as HB4, and the adoption of genome editing in wheat and other small grains have a significant impact on flour and other product supply chains, affecting trade, product segregation, marketing, and more. This session will look at tools and approaches that can help the industry manage and control product flow to ensure transparency, compliance, and consumer trust.
Quality Assessment of Cereals and Pulses for Sustainable Food DevelopmentAs the food industry focuses on developing sustainable foods to meet growing food demands, how can cereals and pulses shape the future of sustainable foods? Explore innovative ways to use plant-based ingredients to reduce reliance on animal proteins while maintaining nutrition, texture, and flavor. You’ll gain practical methods for evaluating ingredient quality, from flavor and aroma profiling to rheological and textural analysis, and learn how variety and environment influence end-product performance. Walk away with tools and insights to advance sustainable food development without compromising consumer expectations.
Beyond the Usual Suspects: Addressing Emerging Contaminants in Cereal Grain Systems
More details for this session are coming soon.
The Importance of Consumer Acceptance in Whole Grain InnovationFrom field to fork, consumer acceptance plays a critical role in the success of whole grain innovation. This sponsored session will bring together experts from the Whole Grains Council and General Mills to share insights on consumer trends, sustainable farming practices, and product development challenges in school meal programs. Gain a deeper understanding of how consumer behavior, supply chain resiliency, and regulatory requirements shape the future of whole grain products, and walk away with strategies to drive adoption and innovation across the food system.
