Cereals & Grains 22: Innovating the Future of Food is just around the corner November 9 - 11 in the cereal and grain hub of Minnesota! President Deirdre Ortiz delves into the new opportunities for stimulating conversations and thought-provoking science at this upcoming annual meeting. As Deirdre mentioned, Advance Rates end October 7, so register today to save

Join us to dive into trending topics within the new, interactive format with ample time for discussion, thought-provoking case studies, and expert-led panels. Programming includes: 

  • Thought-Provoking Sessions:  engaging programming on a variety of topics from future food safety crises and new baking innovations to regenerating upcycled grains for global sustainability.
  • Innovation Forum:  expert-led case studies followed by bite-sized presentations and roundtable discussions with startup companies, established industry professionals, and academia. 
  • Multiple Networking Opportunities: collaboration and learning through lunches, happy hours, one-on-one connection rooms, and more!

Academic Research Forum Initiatives

The Academic Research Forum, led by Board member Mirko Bunzel, Department of Food Chemistry and Phytochemistry, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, brings together top academic leaders in our field to inform the future focus of content and resources from Cereals & Grains Association. 

Trending industry topics uncovered by the Academic Research Forum align with those identified by our new Industry Executive Forum. Topics from both groups have been infused into the programming​ at Cereals & Grains 22 to offer the best of cereal and legume chemistry and science to all attendees. We hope to see you November 9 - 11 in the cereal and grain hub of Minnesota for our upcoming annual meeting​!



Introducing the ​Research Council

The Cereals & Grains Association Research Council was created to fund scientific projects related to the cereals and grains industries to benefit our membership and the cereal grain science community at large. 

Principle investigators and students can apply for research grants by August 15, 2022 for awards up to $25,000 

We welcome organizations to join us as a sponsor in support of project grants and research


Annual Meeting ​Update​

Cereals & Grains 22 offers in-person, interactive, discussion-based sessions that explore ​the theme, "Innovating the Future of Food," from November 9 to 11 in Minnesota, a cereals and grains hub!

Abstract submission for poster presentations are still being accepted during July and registration is open with advance rates​ through October 7.

Election and Bylaws Update

The updated bylaws will restructure Board member responsibilities, so each has a singular focus on initiatives designed to:

  • Increase our members' sense of community
  • Distribute new scientific research
  • Highlight new and emerging research trends
  • Proactively seek out new Methods and expand our Lab Proficiency Rating Program​
  • Identify areas of key research from industry stakeholders.

Eligible voting members can cast their ballot for​ the President-Elect and Director-at-Large as well as the proposed changes to the bylaws by June 17, 2022.
