History of the Section
The Downunder Section was formed to represent the AACCI membership in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and nearby Pacific Islands. It provides a link for cereal scientists based in the region to the broader international communities of AACCI. In 2008 and 2009 it hosted The Australian Cereal Chemistry conference.
The goals of the section are to
- Provide a forum for discussion of regional cereal science issues
- Facilitate and encourage involvement and access for the section members to the global activities of AACCI International
- Organise focused workshops and symposia relevant to local interests
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with other organisations representing grain sciences and other food sciences, and develop programs in collaboration with them when interests overlap.
Membership of the section can be combined with a number of different AACCI membership options. For information on how to become a section member ONLY, please contact Larisa Lara Cato on how to join.
